A meme!

chrysalitron: (flip flops)
Yeah, I know.  It's the off-season and I went a little missing again.  As I do.  The only show I've been keeping up with is Raising the Bar, and though I really enjoy it (I'm going to be on vacation in Las Vegas for 10 days - eeek! - and still plan on watching it on Monday night if possible), I don't feel the need to write about it every week.

Anyway....I saw that [personal profile] leobrat did a meme (awhile back, now) and figured it was a good excuse to (a) write (i.e., bitch and complain) again, and (b) say hi to everyone and hope that your summers are going well!

chrysalitron: (pink daisy)
Okay, let's do this.

lj user swsnbn requested - the top 5 (or 10 or 20) soap opera storylines )

lj user keenai requested - top 5 things I'd tell a younger me )

And I didn't realize it was going to take me that long to do just two of them, so I think I will save the others for later.
chrysalitron: (catch a smile)
Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] quettaser and whoever else on my friendslist has done it:

Yeah, I picked more than one for everything. Have you ever known me to show restraint? )

And also from [livejournal.com profile] quettaser:

Ask me six (or less) questions, whatever you want. I will answer.

Should I go ahead and reveal the unguessed songs in my song meme? (About three entries ago...I'm way too lazy right now to make a link. Bwah). It's been about two nights, so I guess I'll go for it.

Because everyone else is doing it and I'm nothing if not a follower....

Step 1: Get your playlist together, put it on random, and play.

Another Friday Five, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] starsprinkles, as always.

Friday Five:
1. What do you like or dislike about autumn? Autumn is honestly my favorite season. I like that it's not so bitchingly hot, but it's not so incredibly cold either. Sweaters and sweatshirts are still kind of a novelty, whereas by March or April, it's like "Can't I get out my summer clothes yet?!" And I love the colors. What I don't like...well, it means that winter is coming soon. That, I'm not so fond of. Plus, it's always disappointing when summer ends. I'm not sure why, as I'm not in school anymore, but it's still a bit of a letdown.
2. Have you raked leaves into a pile just to jump in them? The jumping wasn't the end goal, no. But I have jumped into a pile of leaves, and personally, I think it's a bunch of hype. I was imagining a big, cushy, soft pillow, and instead it's like "Ooof! There's the ground! And is that a stick? Oh my god, is that a bug?!"
3. Have you ever carved a pumpkin and how did it turn out? I used to when I was little, but I thought the mess was nasty. One year, I got a book that had pumpkin-carving designs in it. You'd just tear them out, tack them to the pumpkin, and you could trace the shapes onto the pumpkin so you knew where you were cutting. That was pretty cool. The pumpkins looked damn nice that year.
4. Have you ever eaten anything made from pumpkins other than pie? Nope. I'm not a big pumpkin fan. The closest I come is carving them.
5. Where is a good spot to see the leaves change color where you live? Somewhere where there are trees? Heh. We've got a lot of trees around here, so it's not that hard. If you go back in the woods behind my house, there's an open area surrounded by trees, and that can be pretty cool to look at. The colors are awesome there.

And one more, just because:
1. Have you made any Halloween plans? I'm going to be working all day. Ten hours, in fact. *sigh* So, no, no real plans. I guess everyone at work dresses up every year, but we have a new manager and nobody is really sure whether he's going to okay that or not. I haven't really considered a costume. I will probably just be Pharmacy Tech Girl - like every other day, except this time, I'll use capital letters. Heh.
2. At what age should you stop trick-or-treating? I'm kinda of the opinion that by the time you reach high school, you should stop. It's fun and all, but most people get cleaned out of their candy pretty fast, and it seems unfair to all the little kids who really get into it to have all the candy stolen by the older kids.
3. What's your favorite kind of Halloween candy? Caramel apple suckers. Mmmm. And I still love Tootsie Rolls. I don't know if they really count as Halloween, but lots of people give them out because they're easy.
4. Are you more likely to trick someone else or be tricked yourself? Be tricked myself. I hate playing tricks on people. It just seems stupid to me. I'm not a big fan of the whole "Let's scare someone into wetting themselves!" scenario.
5. Do you believe in ghosts? I'm honestly not sure. I've heard a lot of interesting stories. I've never had any real reason to believe personally, but I'm open to the idea that there could be ghosts.
chrysalitron: (thetodd)
Well, if everyone else is gonna do it, then I really have no choice. Right?

From all of your various fandoms...
1. Who would you have a one-night stand with?
2. Who would you marry?
3. Who would you party with?
4. Who would be your Best Friend Forever!!1!?

Sooo, I don't actually get to make anyone my bitch, is what you're saying? )
chrysalitron: (crazy eyes)
A couple of memes! Because, uhm.....well, I don't know why. Just because.

What your name means )

LJ Interests meme )

I didn't realize you were only supposed to pick ten, so I wrote descriptions for all eleven....and then it cut off my answer for The District! So, because I'm pissed, I'm gonna try to remember what I wrote and rewrite it. Hmph. Take that, discriminating meme!

The District: Nobody has seen this show, ever, and that makes me so sad. I myself didn't discover it until after it was already canceled. Craig T. Nelson is awesome, and the show is just so well-written. (And Jonathan LaPaglia is hot, in a weird way). I mean, sure, Ella Farmer and her neverending pretentious attitude usually set me off, and sometimes Temple made me cry in the bad way.....but overall, once I started watching it, I found myself deeply invested.

On that note.....I've found that I didn't really get into The District until the second season, which I'm sure had a lot to do with the fact that I was crushing on LaPaglia and that's when he joined. But honestly, season one involves a lot of politics, and that part kinda bored me. I just didn't care that much. And I know that's kinda bad - after all, that was what the show was supposed to be about, the politics + the crime solving, and once they got away from that, they kinda became your semi-average crime show.......but, yeah. I can't help it.

Anyway, wow, that was a lot on The District. But, come on, guys! Go watch it! You'll see what I mean. Reruns are on USA! And it even has a cute dog!

It's [livejournal.com profile] sprklydncgrl's fault. She started it.

50 Worst Songs meme )

In other news....[livejournal.com profile] stamplet has been having the biggest MMC party ever in her journal, which of course, makes her the coolest person alive. *cheers* So far, I've gotten: Stone Cold Gentleman, Motownphilly, the Camp Rap skit, the Bomb Squad skit, Pride In The Name of Love, Black Or White, The Way She Loves Me, and a handful of credits and Emerald Cove.

Yeah, I've pretty much been camped out in her journal as of late, why do you ask? Heh.

But, MMC! It's so fun! The hair, and the dancing, and the clothes, and I think Blain even got to sing in one song, instead of just lurking around and looking creepy! I am pretty durn impressed.

Moving along to long, sad pet babble )

Well, enough dreariness for tonight. Remind me not to write any more entries at one in the morning, I get all mopey and shit. :) If you got through that, you deserve a cookie. Hell, you deserve a cheesecake. LOL.

gakked from [livejournal.com profile] evilprettykitty:

Go into your LJ's archives.
Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
Post the text of the sentence in your lj along with these instructions

My sentence?
Oh my lord, Vivica A Fox looks so TRASHY.

A snippet from JC's Marie Claire UK interview (found in [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez's journal):

Do you ever feel embarrassed about being in the Mickey Mouse Club?

Absolutely not. I ended up going to five proms because everyone wanted to be my date and I travelled the world. Would I trade in that time? No way.

Awww. I love him. I'm so MMC-crazed, that every time I hear somebody allude to it in a bad manner (ahem, Mr Timberlake), I get all irked. So, defending the Mickey Mouse Club is a very good thing in my book. Aww, JC.

And, a meme. Because [livejournal.com profile] chenin and [livejournal.com profile] jchalo did it, and I want to be like the cool kids. Heh.

*wink* )
chrysalitron: (Default)
I just did the latest *N Sync memes floating around.....the "Who is your *N Sync love" and "Your *N Sync shame" one (or what not). And they all revolve around children! What is that all about?!

First of all, the *N Sync love.....both times, for chrysalitron and Chez, I get Lance, and we're connected by a love child. For one (I forget which), we then seal the deal by having ten more children. Sweet jesus. Just thought makes my reproductive system shrivel up and die.

Then, the shame.....with both names, I first get Lance pregnant, and then I get Joey pregnant. *throws up hands* Do they not realize that children+Chez=not the best combination ever, thankssomuch? Lord. Lord.

*crawls away to be traumatized*

And yes, I think I'm done spamming for tonight. At least, I hope. Because, damn, I am really quite freakin' tired.
chrysalitron: (Default)
This was brought to my attention by [livejournal.com profile] ja, so of course - of course - I had to do it myself. Because it's not like I haven't posted today at all. Right.

Top 5.... )
chrysalitron: (Default)
Look, look, a new movie meme! Maybe I'll do better on this one: Read more... )

66/115. Damn, that doesn't seem that impressive, after all! :-( I figured I had more than that, I felt like I was zipping through that. Well, then. Of course, it didn't help my case that there were about eight thousand Adam Sandler movies, and I typically avoid Adam Sandler movies like the plague. Honestly, though - I probably have seen parts of Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison, but I can't remember for sure, so I didn't mark it. That....isn't really relevant; I just thought I'd say.
chrysalitron: (Default)
Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] swabian. Okay, and anybody else that ever had an LJ, ever, amen. Yeah, it's the states meme.

1) Alabama, 2) Alaska, 3) Arizona, 4) Arkansas, 5) California, 6) Colorado, 7) Connecticut, 8) Delaware, 9) DC, 10) Florida, 11) Georgia, 12) Hawaii, 13) Idaho, 14) Illinois, 15) Indiana, 16) Iowa, 17) Kansas, 18) Kentucky, 19) Louisiana, 20) Maine, 21) Maryland, 22) Massachusetts, 23) Michigan, 24) Minnesota, 25) Mississippi, 26) Missouri, 27) Montana, 28) Nebraska, 29) Nevada, 30) New Hampshire, 31) New Jersey, 32) New Mexico, 33) New York, 34) North Carolina, 35) North Dakota, 36) Ohio 37) Oklahoma, 38) Oregon, 39) Pennsylvania, 40) Rhode Island, 41) South Carolina, 42) South Dakota, 43) Tennessee, 44) Texas, 45) Utah, 46) Vermont, 47) Virginia, 48) Washington State, 49) West Virginia, 50) Wisconsin, 51) Wyoming

That doesn't seem like a lot. And apparently, I don't seem to visit states near the end of the alphabet. Huh. Was I supposed to have marked my home state? Because, uh, I did. Come on, I don't have that many, go ahead and give it to me! Some of these, sadly, don't count as much as they should. Like, Hawaii. We spent a few nights in Hawaii coming over from Australia, but I was not quite four, so I don't remember a damn thing about it. I know. It's sad.

Uh, let's see, anywhere else? Well, Australia. Obviously. And Fiji. And....*thinks* Okay, maybe that is it, then.
