How come nobody has filled me in on how amusing this show is? I'll admit, I only tuned in because I saw a commercial and came to the latent realization that Michael Weatherly is hot. But once I started watching it, I figured out that it is actually really good.

I mean, sure, the Navy angle always makes me think of JAG, and while it wasn't the worst show I ever watched, I was never interested in any of their cases. And Abby, while slightly amusing, is a little too over-the-top for me. But overall, I loved it. I love Tony (uhm, obviously) and his constant bantering with Ziva and McGee. And I love the relationship between Tony and Gibbs like no other. He hits him in the back of the head! "I was just going to call you." "That's funny, I was just going to put a boot up your ass." It kind of surprised me how entertaining the show turned out to be.

Soooo......yeah, I'm planning on tuning in again. Maybe at some point, my fondness for Michael Weatherly will fade and the Navy stories will really start to bore me. Who knows? But for now.....I have a new show to watch. Another new show, for those keeping track at home.

A little disclaimer: I realize that this is about the eight billionth show that I have decided to watch primarily because I find a certain male character attractive. Yeah, I'm shallow. But I will say that, if these shows (Without a Trace, CSI: Miami, etc.) weren't legitimately good, I would get bored quickly. (Or just wait until people post screencaps so I can ogle the hot guys without having to sit through the show. Either/or). So while it may be The Hot that initially drags me in, decent storytelling is what keeps me around. Okay - decent storytelling + The Hot.

Just thought I'd mention that.

I didn't mind the Mandy Moore guest shot. She didn't do a lot, but she and Zach Braff are so cute together that it's easy to ignore that fact. I loved the picture of them in the sorcerer hats, sitting on the unicorn, and Elliott's reaction to it. Bwah!

TURK! I always say that my favorite character is Cox (with Jordan taking an honorable mention), but honestly, Turk is definitely pretty high up on the list of characters I love. The whole dance routine to Poison made me choke with laughter. Go, Cool Cats! I hope they're not just a one-time thing, but then again, Scrubs is pretty good at following up with weird little details like that.

The Nurse Marrrrrrtinez/"She looks like a young Carla" sequence also killed me. I can't even explain it, except it was so hilarious that I cried. JD and Turk hugging each other! And the fact that Janitor was completely oblivious to what he had done, and everyone else just kept looking at him like "Did he really just say that?"........HEEE.

Jay Kenneth Johnson as Dr. Matthews, the ob-gyn all the ladies love. It's nice to see him doing something after North Shore, because - like the rest of the women at Sacred Heart - I don't have a problem looking at him. I wonder if he's going to be around on a regular basis, or if it's just a one-shot thing.

The "Cox has issues with being mushy towards his son" thing seemed a little odd, considering just last week he was all over Jack and extolling the virtues of parenthood to Carla. It's not surprising behavior from Cox, it's just weird timing.

Did I mention the dance routine to Poison? Heh. I thought they weren't going to top themselves after The Todd performed Working For The Weekend, but they totally did.

ETA: Also - JD has to text Elliott when he gets laid! Bwah! That made me laugh more than the sex gong. Because of course JD and Turk have sex gongs.

I sort of suspected Tessa from the start, and I assume that's because she was played by Rebecca De Mornay. She's another actress who really needs to play somebody nice for a change, because it's getting to where she shows up and I automatically go "She's EVIL! Stay away from her! She's going to KILL YOU!"

However, I liked the ending twist where it turned out she could really walk. When Linus started wheeling her out, I was like "Oh my god, he's gonna throw her in the pool!" Even with that, I didn't expect her to actually prove the detectives right. I figured she'd sink and they'd have to save her.

It was a fairly interesting episode. Not my absolute favorite, but it wasn't like a few of them this season, where I've sat here afterwards going "What the hell was that?" Speaking of "What the hell was that?"......Elliot's facial expression when Tessa got out of the pool cracked me up. Olivia gets over the shock quickly enough to snark at her, but Elliot stood there the whole time with a total look on his face of "What the fuck just happened here?!" It was awesome.

Inman assaulted my Munch! Poor Munchkins. I do love that he referred to himself as New York's finest finest, though. Heh. And "Don't get him started on Dick Cheney!" made me laugh, too. I know I've said it before (and I'll say it again), but we totally need a Munch-and-Fin-centric episode. Their banter is the best untapped resource on this show.

Of course Melinda cracked the case! She just rocks like that. In the end, I felt pretty sorry for Linus. Affair or no, he tortured himself with the guilt of the accident for years, when it turned out Tessa could walk all along. Then she has his girlfriend killed and frames him for murder. And she does so by giving him a blow job and then handing his semen off to a hitman! Harsh. No wonder he threw her ass in the pool.

ETA: I like how they're not really hiding Mariska's pregnancy all that much. I mean, I'm sure when she gets bigger, they'll do more to cover it up, and she's obviously going on maternity leave. But while they're doing the occasional close-up or cutaway, they're not making a big deal out of it. To me, that's cool, because in real life, sometimes people gain weight. It's always bugged me when viewers are like "Oh my god, I can see her baby belly!" because can't they just let us assume that Olivia has put on a few pounds? To me, that seems easier than hiding her behind plants or suspects and makes a lot more sense, realistically. At least while she's still not obviously pregnant, you know?

None of tonight's shows had previews for next week, so I'm guessing no new episodes. When do the Olympics start? I'm thinking this Friday or something, hence why most everything seems to be on hiatus. Is it just NBC that is showing the Olympics, or are all the channels going to be in on this? I need to know how to prepare my TV viewing schedule for the next couple weeks, LOL.

On that note.....you know, three hours of straight television kind of wore me out. Is that sad? I'm used to having a break in there. But I'm not willing to give up on Weatherly just yet, so I guess I will be getting used to it. At least it's not like Thursdays.

SVU ones? I haven't really checked any out, but I'm not against hearing some. Some shows, I don't want to know what's going on, but with SVU, I don't care as much. Why - do you know something good? :-p

Not terribly exciting, but, apparently, Ludacris is guest-starring as Fin's nephew who gets mixed up in a murder(?) case that also involves his son. So, unless the writers are complete bastards, this should at least be a Fin-centric case, at best a Munch&Fin spotlight.

The Olympic Opening Ceremonies are this Friday, and the Games will be airing on "the networks of NBC." Since February is a sweeps period, most of the other channels should be airing new episodes. Hope that helps!

SQUEE! I'm all for a Fin-centric episode. At this point, I'll take anything that isn't based around Olivia and/or Elliot, you know? I don't hate either one, but I'm beyond sick of them hogging all the screentime and good stories while Fin and Munch stand around like extras.

Maybe we'll get REALLY lucky and one of these days, they'll give Munch a Very Special Episode, too. *pause* Yeah, probably not. :)

Thanks! I was curious as to what was going on, exactly. I figure the Olympics period would be a prime opportunity for the other networks to put out showstopping episodes, sweeps or no. You know, in order to lure people away from NBC while the NBC shows are on break. But I'm pretty sure I will never understand the logic behind television programming, so....whatever. *shrugs* :)

At least NCIS is pretty damn good. I watched Dark Angel back in the day for Michael, and then later for Jensen. The "futuristic" crap I had to sit through...

Though really, Michael Weatherly? Soo worth it.

Amen to that! I'd gotten a glimpse of him every now and then and kinda went "Oh, he's cute" but didn't pay too much attention other than that. Then I saw last week's preview and for some reason, I just kinda went "WHY AM I NOT WATCHING THIS SHOW?!" Hee. I've since downloaded a few clips from past episodes and I'm even more in love with DiNozzo. So, yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm here for the duration. Of course, knowing my luck, they'll cancel it as soon as I start to get into it. *sigh*

The whole dance routine to Poison made me choke with laughter.

THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER! I loved that so much. I don't tape Scrubs but when that scene was happening I was going...oh goddamit, I wish I had this on tape because I want to watch it over and over and make everyone I know watch it too.

I also loved the "hide the saltine" game, and the way Turk asked the Janitor "do you play?" and he was like, of course I do, there's a saltine right here behind my ear. That was so fantastic.

I actually sat here and squealed and whooped and hollered during the whole Poison sequence. I mean, it's Bell Biv Devoe! And Donald Faison danced and lip-synched! I just sat there thinking "This is one of the greatest Scrubs moments ever." Heh.

Hide The Saltine, LOL. I loved the whole "Do you play?" bit. Like it was just this NORMAL thing, as opposed to JD and Turk being batshit crazy like usual.
