JC vs Justin
Aug. 27th, 2003 04:57 pmOkay, a few comments relating to *N Sync-age. You know it.
Everyone is losing their minds because JC is going to be on Wade's show, and that's a "diss" to Justin. I mean, sure, if you're bored, it gives you something to think about. But seriously, I don't see what the big deal is.
I've always been more of a JC fan than a Justin fan. I think I've made it fairly obvious that I'm a JC girl. But I don't *hate* Justin. I may bitch about him occasionally - hell, I may bitch about JC occasionally :-p. But I don't hate the kid. I own his CD, for god sakes.
Overall, I started out being an *N Sync fan, and I think I'll go out being an *N Sync fan. Yes, JC doing solo stuff is nice - NICE. (If it ever gets released *arghem*). But I love watching the group interaction of the boys. Especially in more lowdown moments, for example, the ones on the Top 40 Videos Uncut DVD. They really don't strike me as guys who've been forced together, or guys that secretly hate each other. They're like brothers. And yes, brothers fight. We've all seen little bits and pieces where so-and-so seems annoyed with so-and-so, or what have you. That's a family thing, it happens to all of us. I get annoyed with my sister constantly - doesn't mean I hate her.
I'm getting rambly.
Basically, I seriously doubt JC and Justin hate each other. They've both been nothing but supportive of each other during the hiatus. I really don't see how suddenly, it's going to turn into a mud-slinging bitchfest. It's promo, folks.
Am I annoyed that JC's single/album are not going to be released anytime this century? Sure. Do I think that there's a good chance that Jive gave Justin better promotion/etc than they're giving JC? Possibly. But I don't think it's Justin's fault, necessarily. I mean, good for him that they're so behind him.
We still don't know that Jive is behind the delays. It's like playing Clue anymore. Is JC being a perfectionist? It could be true. Is Jive unsure how to market JC? That could be true. Are they having a showdown because Jive wants JC to stop wearing so much girly shit and JC told them to stick it? Who the hell knows? We may never know. Though we'd like some answers, we may never get them.
Same with the Wade/Britney/Justin situation. I don't think anyone's going to come out and say what *really* went down. Sure, it all smells very fishy. But we'll probably only have speculation, and never a true answer.
Anyway, getting to my point, since I'm getting way off-base. I think JC is going on Wade's show for promo shit. Which is nice, in that we'll get some JC on our screens. Not so nice in that we may never know when his single/CD will be out. As for the JC/Justin controversy....it's ridiculous. From what I can gather, JC asks his bandmates their opinions on everything. Especially his "best friend", Justin. I assume that if there were any hard feelings about JC doing Wade's show, he wouldn't do it. It's not like it would break him not to do it. I mean, it's a dance-off on MTV, for god sakes.
This is my sparkly, dream version of how it went down:
JC: So, uh, like, Wade's got this show on MTV, and he was like 'Dude, you want to come judge?'
Justin: Oh. Yeah.
JC: Yeah, so, I said I'd think about it. Uh, would you be okay with that, or would that like, be shady?
Justin: It would probably be good promo, man.
JC: Dude, that's totally what I was thinking.
Justin: I mean, I hate his fucking white ass, but I don't see why you shouldn't do it, yo.
JC: Cool, man.
So, that's my take on it. Justin and JC are still best friends, and the problems with the CD release probably have nothing to do with their friendship. Either JC is dragging his feet (not Justin's fault), or Jive is having problems (not Justin's fault). And JC is going on Wade's show, even though Justin *may* hate Wade, but JC probably discussed it with Justin, and they agree it's going to be good promo.
Don't burst my bubble ;-) Okay, burst it if you want. But that's what I'm thinking over here.
And, since I got a little off-base, I'll say it one more time: I'm a huge JC fan. I'm a huge *N Sync fan. Not so much a Justin fan, because I'll be honest, he does bother me sometimes, and I'm extremely partial to JC. But that doesn't mean I hate Justin, or that I blame him for everything wrong in JC's life. Not all fangirls are completely crazy :-)
