Mar. 7th, 2004 04:44 pmApparently, I have been a little....out of it.....today. I just looked out the window, and there's blowing snow out there! Wha? So I run into the living room, and announce: "Hey, it's snowing!"
My parents exchanged a look, and then turned back to me and said "Uh, yeah. It has been all day."
Oh.
Well, never mind then.
......
In other news.....my mom booked the tickets to Vegas today! Woo! She threatened again this past week that we wouldn't be able to go, and I was finally like "You know what? I'm tired of talking about it. If we're going, let me know when you book the tickets. If we're not going, then if I'm still here in Michigan on July 10th, I'll figure it out myself." Lord.
This was like the Prom Debacle of '99. A group of friends and I wanted to go out to eat before prom. Our friend M picks a restaurant that is monstrously expensive. Another friend, B, and I put our collective feet down and say "We are po', and we cannot afford that." (Obviously, nobody asked our dates their opinion, because obviously, the dates' opinions did not apparently matter). Anyway, we went back and forth and back and forth and......you get the idea. Finally, M decided she was getting some of our friends to go with her to Expensive Restaurant, and B and I were getting some of the rest of our friends to go to Less Expensive Restaurant. Of course, then our new group couldn't make up our mind where to go, and finally, my mother called and got us a reservation somewhere the day before prom, and said "That's where you're going." And that's what we did.
But, anywho. With all of the infighting and bullshit going on (and this was just in relation to the restaurants....we won't even get into the rest of the arguments), about a week before prom, B turns to me and says "You know what? At this point, I'm so fucking tired of talking about prom, that I don't even want to go anymore." And I was like "No fucking kidding."
And that was essentially the point I got to with this Vegas stuff. My mother was obsessing over it, and I just wanted a straight-out answer: Are we going, yes or no.
I guess it's just difficult for me, because I hate going back and forth. When I first pulled all of the vacation packages up for my mom, who doesn't know how to use the computer, I was like "Okay, this here is the best deal for us. Let's do this." That was weeks ago. And I think we eventually ended up with that same deal, but only after we had exhausted every other available option and eliminated it.
So, yes. I'm sure this isn't the end of it all, but we at least have our tickets booked. I can breathe a sigh of relief over that, I suppose.
.....
The amount of General Hospital icons I now have is pretty much ridiculous. *eyeroll*
......
Personally, I was very much okay with the LACK of snow, but as usual, Michigan told me to stick my opinions up my ass and twist. Thank you, Michigan.
