chrysalitron: (er duh)
Okay, sooo.....today, I learned a little life lesson that I thought I would share with you lovely people:

When daylight savings comes and you change your clocks - you should perhaps consider changing the VCR clock, also.

*ahem*

Yeah, so, uhm.....as opposed to an hour of GH, I got an hour of Maury Povich. Which I could recap for you (please, I beg of you - don't make me do that), but instead, I think I'll share a few random things about my "relationship" (heh), as it were, with the show.

The first episode I recall watching was when Sonny showed up to Brenda's wedding to Jax at the Q mansion with Miranda, Jax's presumed-dead wife. (You know....the one who was mysteriously linked to the Cassadines, but was written off before we figured out how....at least, that's what I recall). And yeah, I thought Sonny was kind of cute and charming. Honest! I thought Jax was a complete tool (well.....it's good to know some feelings don't change, I guess), and Sonny just seemed kind of funny and entertaining.

You may be shocked to realize that I no longer feel the same way about him. Heh.

Favorite couples: I've always had a tendency to like the couples with potential that never actually made it as a "couple". Liason would be one of those. Even though it's hard for me to see Elizabeth and Jason, now, as a couple with potential.....back when they were eyeing each other, I loved them. When Liz slept with Zander (uh, the first time), I was completely depressed.

Speaking of Zander......Zander/Maxie was a couple I wanted even before the characters shared scenes together. I thought they would be perfect together, and it would finally give Robyn Richards a freakin' STORYLINE. When they paired up, per se, during the whole hotel fire fiasco, I thought it was too good to be true. Unfortunately, I was right - it WAS too good to be true. Zander/Maxie inspired the only GH fanfic I've ever started writing.....which started to resemble an epic before they killed Zander off and I was too heartbroken to finish it. LOL.

Favorite characters: I loved Faith. I knew she was evil, but at least she wasn't whitewashed - she was a mobster and she killed people. It boggles me that a show that spends so much time redeeming and glorifying mobsters refused to show (at least, more than once or twice) another side to Faith Rosco.

I love Skye. She's not perfect - she makes mistakes - but she's not a mean-hearted person. She's loyal, she's devoted....she puts it all out there for the people she cares about, usually at the cost of her own happiness. She is the one person who, watching the show, I can look at and say that if she were real, I'd want to be her friend.

I love Coleman, but am too distressed to know that I missed him today to go on. SOB.

Favorite actors: Cyndy Preston, a billion times over. (I don't CARE if she's not on the show anymore, people!) She managed to lift up the performance of everyone she shared a scen with, making their characters infinitely more interesting. Yes, even Sonny. Though he was still a dismissive, pompous asshat, I thought that MB actually seemed to enjoy himself in Sonny/Faith scenes.

Robin Christopher, Rick Hearst, and Ted King are three more actors I think are absolutely excellent. They don't overdo it and are usually spot-on. They don't need to smash barware or screech like a hyperactive harpy to get their point across. It's all in the little things with them. They're understated, and because of that, they're usually overlooked. It's a shame. Because in my biased opinion, they're the best actors on that show, and they're typically used as props to hold up TPTB's Personal Faves.

And, after watching the more recent performances, I'm likely to put Billy Warlock in there, too. However, I might be a bit blinded by the fact that he's so darn cute. What? I'm trying to be honest, here.

Oh, and Jane Elliot. Because I love her no matter what.

Least favorite characters: Oh, come on, you should know this already. Sonny and Emily are consistently jockeying for that top position. Carly sometimes manages to ride Sonny's coattails and grab the runner-up spot. I'd go into reasons why I hate these characters, but......really, you've heard it all before. Every day.

All right, so what do you guys think? What are your favorites/least favorites?
