Jul. 2nd, 2005 12:52 amLuther Vandross died. That's sad. Even though they'd gone real quiet for awhile now (for obvious reasons, it now seems), I think everyone assumed he was doing all right. Not wonderfully - but nowhere near as bad as he'd been right after the stroke, when no one really expected him to make it.
In news that is also sad, but probably only to me.....my printer appears to be broken. While printing some photos off my mom's digital camera a week or so ago, we managed to break off part of the.....section where you load the photo paper. (What? I don't know technical terms, all right?) My father assured me that it would be "just fine" - that we'd just have to manuever the printer manually from now on.
My father lied.
Now, I'm dealing with a printer with a one-track mind. It refuses to print anything on a piece of paper. According to said cranky printer, the only thing it can print is pictures - or 4x6 inch squares on a regular piece of paper, whichever I'd prefer. Yeah - I'd prefer NEITHER, thanks. I want a fucking working printer - that is what I'd prefer.
*sigh* I told him it was bad. I mean, when you physically break off a piece of your printer, that's usually a sign that all is not well, you know? That maybe that's gonna cause some problems. But noooo......it's going to be "just fine". Just fine, my ass.
So, yeah. I guess I know where a portion of my next paycheck is going. *sigh*
A random thought completely unrelated to anything else in this post: So, Tom Cruise has been known to sue any and every human being who even insinuates that he is gay, right? (You know, because going batshit over someone's opinion is TOTALLY going to convince us that he's completely heterosexual. But I digress). My thought is....wouldn't it be great if Brooke Shields turned around and sued his ass for "insinuating" that she's hopped up on antidepressants? That would be just desserts, I'd think.
Then again, I have to give the woman props for not completely stooping to that level of pettiness. And by the by - can Tom Cruise please go away now? Seriously. I've gotten to where I can't stand the sight of the short little egotist, and honestly, I can't even stand Katie Holmes anymore because she is a party to that bullshit. I was okay with hating Joey Potter.....but I didn't really WANT to hate Katie Holmes.
