melonfusion :
01. Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
My So-Called Life. Back when it replayed on MTV all the time, I know I watched it at least a few times, plus I have it on DVD.
02. Name a show you can't miss:
Smallville. I thought this season would disappoint me, hence the lack of Luthors, but I'm loving it.
03. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Honestly, I'm not sure that there is anybody. There are actors I really enjoy, sure, but I think I mostly enjoy their characters.
04. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
I will have to agree with
melonfusion that Jerry Seinfeld is a great answer to this question. And part of the reason I refuse to watch Grey's Anatomy is because I can't stand Katherine Heigl, so I suppose that counts, too.
05. Name a show you can, and do, quote from:
Ha! At the moment, probably Buffy, just because that's the one I've watched the most lately. And even though it's been years since I've watched any new Scrubs episodes, those quotes will stay with you.
06. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
The District, which is no longer airing. It was just SUCH a good show, and I had no idea Craig T. Nelson was so freaking hilarious. It may not sound like an interesting show, but if you got into it, I promise you would enjoy it.
07. Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
Smallville. I won't say this is a GOOD thing.....
08. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
NCIS. I've explained the concept to people before, and I can see their eyes start to cloud over, which I get. But what really sells this show is the cast. They're all just so amazing and the characters are totally fleshed-out. Plus there is a lot of humor, which I can always get behind.
09. Name a TV series you own:
I just today received the entire series of Angel in the mail. I can't remember who on my friendslist mentioned that Amazon.com had it for 50 bucks, but I thank you PROFUSELY. (ETA: It bothered me, so I went back and checked - thank you,
quiet_rebel !) Besides that, I have all of Arrested Development and obviously My So-Called Life. I have all but the last (or most recent) seasons of One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I asked for those for Christmas, though, so we'll see.....
10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television:
Here's a really random answer: Jonathan LaPaglia. His brother is Anthony LaPaglia of Without a Trace. Jonathan was on The District, but anyone reading this might recall him as Brett Langer on NCIS earlier this season - you know, the fellow agent that Lee killed. LaPaglia actually started out as an emergency room doctor (!!!) but switched to acting.
11. What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?
Oh, gosh.......I've got a few. With Buffy, of course there is Once More With Feeling. With Smallville, I LOVED the episode where Clark and Lionel Luthor traded bodies. Mostly because I was so-so on Tom Welling as an actor up to that point, but when I saw him "acting" as Lionel, I DIED. And I don't know if I'd classify MSCL as my "favorite" series, but I will always, always love the episode in which Rayanne handcuffs herself to Ma and Pa Chase's bed. The scene where Sharon Cherski's boyfriend and his buddy find them all in there, with Rayanne handcuffed to the bed with Brain Krakow on top of her, and Angela, Ricky, and Danielle watching? I break into giggles over that to this DAY.
12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. My friends with similar senses of humor to mine love it, so I know I would, too, but I just never think of it.
13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Oh, General Hospital. Okay, honestly, I just don't have the time to sit down and watch it every day. But it got to the point where I didn't even want to bother anymore. I don't think Maurice Benard is the be-all and end-all, but I don't think he's the worst actor ever. However, Sonny Corinthos could do no wrong on that show, and it disgusted me. Sonny/Carly as a couple (which, from what I can tell, is still played around with to this day) made me want to vomit. And don't even get me started on the head writers in general. I eventually realized that I hated more about the show than I liked, so I walked away. I still keep up with it via the magazines, but that's it.
14. Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Buffy. When Buffy has to kill Angel? When Willow and Oz break up? Anytime Giles gets really sad? Yes.
Also, it probably doesn't count, but every time I watch the season finale of Dawson's Creek, I WAIL. Seriously. Jen and Jack were the reason I watched that show (god knows it wasn't for Joey Potter). In the end, where he breaks down and tells her that she belonged to him, because she was his soulmate? Kills me every single time.
15. What do you eat when you watch TV?
Whatever. Sometimes a meal, sometimes a snack. It's not specific.
16. How often do you watch TV?
When my shows are scheduled to come on, otherwise, the only other time I turn on the TV is to watch DVDs.
17. What's the last TV show you watched?
Charmed. I just bought the first season to see if I could get into it. (It was 13 bucks, so I figured, hey, why not?) Plus NCIS will be coming on fairly soon here.
18. What's your favorite/preferred genre of TV?
I love comedies, but to sit down and watch something every week, I seem more likely to go for the dramas. I'm not sure why. Maybe because I get more caught up in the story and want to see what happens? I'm sure the fact that the most recent shows I've watched or bought have been Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Charmed says something about me, too.
19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
General Hospital. Though I was a pretty big Saved by the Bell fan, I must say......god, that was a bad show.
20. What TV show do you wish you never watched?
There is nothing coming to me at the moment. I suppose I've had my moments with General Hospital, but my association with that show is far too long to actually regret it.
21. What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Probably some of the Adult Swim cartoons. I have Harvey Birdman and The Oblongs on DVD. I've had some friends watch them and go "This....isn't really funny", but I will still crack up over them.
22. What TV show scared you the most?
I'm going to put it out there: Unsolved Mysteries. Yes, with Robert Stack. My mom used to watch it all the time when I was younger, so I'd usually be around to see it....and then I'd always have nightmares about being kidnapped or murdered. I'm not even kidding. And don't get me started on Michael Jackson's Thriller video. I STILL can't watch it. I'm not joking!
23. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Arrested Development. It's just so random, but the lesson I have learned is that you can't start halfway through the series. There is too much that is picked back up on with no explanation. And I'm not sure this counts, but CSI: Miami can be hilarious simply because of Horatio Caine. I don't think I'm supposed to laugh at him, but I do. Constantly.
