I totally need to get to sleep, since I have to go into work two hours early tomorrow to deal with this fucking Medicare BULLSHIT (Dear Plan D: I hate you. Feel free to die. Sometime before noon tomorrow, preferably) but I'm feeling like writing. So, you know.....
I finally caught up with the last recent episode of ER. About time, too, since this Thursday is going to mark my first marathon-taping day, in which I try to juggle taping One Tree Hill, My Name Is Earl, The Office AND ER. God. It was a sweet episode, but I was already kind of spoiled for it. It wasn't a big deal, though - I mean, it was weeks after the episode aired, so I didn't really blame people for talking about it. I would be a total bitch if I expected people to keep their mouths shut just because it takes me eight years to watch a taped show.
From what I've seen of the previews, Neela gets into it with Gallant. I am SO SAD that I am now actively rooting for this couple to break up. I mean, I used to love them! Like, they were my favorite couple ever, just about. And now I'm like "Yeah, whatever. Can they please break up soon so Neela can go have rebound sex with Ray? Please?" This whole sudden-marriage just ruined it for me. All the cuteness just kind of shriveled up and died.
Moving along. Has anyone had that Choxie candy from Target? You know, their "gourmet" chocolate line? Because I have, and let me tell you - you should be kicking yourself if you haven't had any. How ridiculous is this stuff? Well, I have a shitload of candy left from Christmas and related festivities, and yet I still went out the other day and bought a ton more. (Granted, I was afraid Choxie was only a holiday thing - which it might still be - and I was going to miss out. But, yeah, it's still a little sad). I personally recommend the peppermint marbled crunch thin, the chocolate covered grahams, and the mint cookie maltballs. Mmm. Heaven.
Speaking of heaven, I also realized recently that there is a used CD store in the next town. See, I'm really picky with CDs. I went through a phase when I was younger ("younger" meaning "ages 10-18") where I would buy any CD that had a song on it that I liked. Naturally, that led to about a billion CDs that never got listened to because it turned out that one song was the only song I liked on it. And as I got older and prices jumped up, I realized that CDs are just too fucking expensive to do that with. Plus, I learned how to download music and make mix CDs, which suited me just fine. Stupid RIAA and their communist ways! Or something.
Anyway. This store has been quite a find, because now, not only are the CDs cheap enough (the older ones range from $5-7) that I can go ahead and buy the ones I want, but also, there's a bigger selection than you would find in most "mainstream" stores. Hello, it's used CDs.....it's the stuff that people don't want anymore. The stuff people are embarrassed to own. The stuff that I live for.
The one thing that did disappoint me was that they had no MMC or Party CDs. Yeah, it was kind of a long shot, but I was keeping my fingers crossed. And in the end, it doesn't matter too much, as I have 99% of all the songs downloaded. It's just the nostalgia factor, you know?
Anyway. At the end of the day, I had Mariah Carey's self-titled and Daydream (both of which I had on tape, but not on CD), Faith Hill's Cry, and LeAnn Rimes' Twisted Angel. All for $25, which I think is pretty decent. And I didn't get a real good look at the section, but they've also got DVDs. They've even got TV series on DVD! Not a whole lot, but a better selection than I thought they would have.
In other words - between the used CD store and casezille, I'm going to end up more broke than I've ever been. Thank god I'm still living at home.
