I've only read two or three magazines thus far, and I'm already sick and tired of hearing about Britney's new video.

Honestly, I don't see the problem. To me, it seems like you really have to stretch it to make it related to suicide. One of the magazines quoted that her Kabbalah bracelet turns into blood. The hell? Am I missing something here? From what I could tell, she touches the back of her head, and brings back a bloody hand - therefore insinuating that she suffered a head injury that she didn't notice with the baseball cap on. Am I seeing something I'm not supposed to be here? I'm so confused.

I thought the reincarnation issue was a bit iffy......I imagine there are a lot of people who would look at it and go "Why the hell did she end up in some baby's room? What?" And I still kinda miss how any of that really relates to the song itself.

But.....I just don't think it's about suicide. I think it could have been so much worse. Some articles actually say that she slits her wrists, which I didn't see any evidence of at all. And I know I should just shrug it off and figure that they're stupid and don't check their facts, but...yeah. It just annoys me.

At this point, Britney could put out a video where she does nothing more but sit there and sing, covered from head to foot, and somebody somewhere would find something scandalous about it. It's gotten ridiculous. According to the world, the girl can't do anything right. And it doesn't really look like there's merit to it this time.

Like with Toxic.....it was all about Justin? I'm still scratching my head over that one. Or, oh, she sported black hair in the video because she's secretly dying to be Christina Aguilera. And in Everytime, she slits her wrists, and/or the Kabbalah bracelet turns into blood, and Stephen Dorff is supposed to be a representation of - you guessed it - Justin Timberlake. How does that work out, exactly? The only real similarity I saw was.....oh, look, Dorff is playing Brit's love interest, and Justin, once upon a time, was Brit's love interest! Shocking!

ETA: I forgot half of what I was going to say, which was.....there was a big blow-up about this video before it was even released, which I think is what doomed it. Sure, maybe some people would have suggested that it depicted suicide, regardless, because we all know that Britney is evil and scandalous and all. But I doubt it wouldn't have been as intense as it has gotten. In other words.....I think more people would have given this video a chance, but with all the uproar over it "depicting suicide", now everyone's gonna jump on it.

*sigh* I'm not expressing myself very well, as usual....but damn it, at least I know what I mean to say, right? :-/

I guess I should just stop asking stupid questions, right? *eyeroll* Well, other than the obvious, which is - Britney, honey, did you wear pants at all during that video? Or did I miss that, too?

I wish I could comment intelligently on the video, alas, I haven't seen it yet. Mostly, because I really don't like the song. I always skip it on the CD.

But you're right, it doesn't matter what Britney does, it's always scandalous. I wish some of those people would get a life.

I've only just seen it myself....I was able to ignore most of the rumors about it, because I assumed that the video probably was that scandalous, since everyone was talking about it. But then, once I saw it, it was like I was seeing a totally different video than the one I'd heard about.

If she does something really out there and ridiculous - then sure, whatever. But she doesn't even have to try now. It's like "Britney ate a sandwich the other day! She has no morals!" *eyeroll*
